from the Just Beyond Series (Disney+), this is the 1970's van that transforms into a spaceship at the end of Season 1 Episode 2 (Parents are from Mars, Kids are from Venus). For the effect, I had to create an accurate and photorealistic, digital replica of the set vehicle that had been used for the family car. I was the concept artist for the ‘spaceship’ design, and worked with the VFX supervisor and the client to build and finalize the look they wanted. The base vehicle, and the ‘futuristic’ spaceship elements had to then be modeled and textured. The animation artist, effects artist, and I worked together to create the transformation. This was a fun, and very satisfying sequence to be a part of.
